I'm Jo, a quirky creative, mental health advocate, traveller, steampunk, wild west and ghost nut and a renaissance soul with a potty sense of humour.
Five years ago I began a miraculous journey to recovery from thirty years of depression and anxiety. The catalyst was a medication crisis. A brilliant mental health team treated me and today I'm better than I've ever been.
I'm rebuilding my creative and sometimes adventurous life and aim to live a life less ordinary. I'm aspiring to be a bit of a role model for the over sixties and aim to be - as our thirteen-year-old twin granddaughters say - one cool gran! 😄
I'm sharing my mental health experiences, my travels, my renaissance soul endeavours, and my creativity - art, photography, sculpture and articles. This includes my epic western novel (Alias Jeannie Delaney - the life story of a devastating cowgirl who is the fastest gun in the west and bisexual), which I've been working on forever - it's a beginning, muddle and end. Recovery from depression signalled my decision to finally get it 'out there'!
I'm hoping to give sufferers of depression inspiration and encouragement, because depression is the most easily treated of mental health issues, provided the right help can be found, which ain't easy, I know.
With the help of my brilliant soul-mate tech savvy husband, I'm working on this blog and endeavouring to make it a fun, interesting and informative read. I hope you enjoy it! I love talking to people, so feel free to contact me for a chat anytime. 😊 Ciao!
