GETTING IT COVERED!

ALIAS JEANNIE DELANEY -  GO WEST, GIRL!

                        NOT JEANNIE!

So - my cover designer came back to me. My hubby is away at the moment, and he usually advises me and walks me through the process. But last night I was knackered because Shaun came back to me and much of the afternoon and evening was spent sorting out the tweaks.

The design as a whole is excellent - Shaun is a great designer - but we're not quite there yet. I love the layout and design, and Jeannie's figure is fab, but because I know Jeannie's face through and through, a few tweaks are required. But that's what we're paying for, and Shaun's website offers unlimited revisions.

I questioned whether I was being too fussy, but hubby, who I speak to every night while he's away, assures me I'm not! Shaun is doing a fabulous job to translate my vision, just the detail needs sorting out.

I'm also a bit confused (I was born confused). He's also doing the paperback and he's asked for any text that will go on the back. I assumed he meant the short blurb and the short author bio and photo (I saw both on the back of a novel online) so when he came back to me and told me that the bio and photo would take up too much space, I was unsure what went on the back. Now I know, having spoken to hubby over the phone and looked up more paperback examples on amazon. Just the short blurb.

I've sent Shaun more of the drawings I made of Jeannie umpteen years ago - thus a tad amateurish - to give him a better idea of her facial features, including dimpled cheeks and mesmeric, deeply lidded eyes. Very difficult for a designer to have to translate an image the author knows intimately. As I said to him: 'I don't envy you!'. I love what he's done so far and I know he will get there. Just got to hold my horses. (Noticed what I did there?!).
