GHOSTS OUT WEST

Two of my fascinations in one - how good is that?! 😄

I love the wild west and I'm fascinated by the paranormal - ghosts and ghoulies. So when one of my favourite ghost shows, Ghost Adventures, goes west, I have to watch it!

In the past I suffered mentally over anything connected with the west. Hard to explain, My fascination encompassed particularly the roles played by the rough n' tough gun totin' women out west, and I loved to emulate a conglomeration of my favourites - Kitty Le Roy, Captain Ellen Jack and Sally Skull. But during my depression, I found that hard to do, and I eventually got to a point where I found it hard to watch or read anything about the west. I'd cry and feel miserable.

Analysing this, we came to a couple of conclusions. First my brain was telling me that the west had vanished (far from it!), and second, women had no part in it (also far from it). Since my recovery from depression and anxiety, I've slowly come to the point where my brain accepts facts at last and I can watch anything western related without feeling bad. Not entirely cured, but able to watch.

Back in the late seventies, I made two Greyhound Bus trips that took in much of the States - one month in 1978, two months in '79. I loved them. I did return to the States - San Francisco for a weekend -  for my fortieth birthday. A successful trip, but I still suffered mentally. Returning to the States ain't on the cards any time soon - I'm too nervous. But, I can now watch programmes set out there without too much trouble, thank goodness, and Ghost Adventures is one of them!

The Ghost Adventures crew consist of Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Nick Groff, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley. They're one of my favourite shows because they're a bunch of young guys, a tad crazy, a brilliant sense of humour, but they're professional about what they do and sympathetic towards people who have had bad experiences. There's a lot of 'Wow, dude!' and 'Wow, bro!' when 'stuff' happens. Zac, who could be described as hot - girls definitely like him! 😄 - is the main guy, and sometimes he can be a little on the bossy side, but overall it's a fun programme - very informative - and asks a ton of questions that those of us who are fascinated by the subject would love to have answered.

The guys travel all over the world and have made many programmes out west - Tombstone, Arizona, Virginia City, Nevada, Here are some of the 'out west' programmes:

Bannock Ghost Town
Montana

Virginia City & Goldfield
Nevada

Eureka
Nevada
