MONUMENTAL EDITING & COMMANDING MY CREATIVE EMPIRE!

MONUMENTAL EDITING

& COMMANDING MY CREATIVE EMPIRE!

If ya already know me & my epic western Alias Jeannie Delaney editing saga —skip the recap.

If ya don’t… saddle up, pard! I was going to write a long, fancy pure gold post, but since I’ve gone quieter than a church mouse at a poker game on social media recently😭, while wrangling Book 3, I was going to micro blog instead. However, clearly my definition of 'micro' needs work. The good news? My absence means the editing is actually going right smart! That's somethin' to ease a troubled mind, one that's often down in the dumps.

But before I get carried away, for those of you who have never heard of my epic western trilogy Alias Jeannie Delaney, where have you been all my life and have you been living under a rock? Let me fix that. So here's the blurb and link:

Badass Jeannie Morgan, a tomboy beauty born in New Orleans in 1865, refuses to bow down to a Victorian girl's upbringing. She becomes a pants-wearing rebel from the moment she's able to swing her brothers' wooden swords. Her family move west & apart from becoming a cowgirl & the fastest gun, her fluid sexual desires make her a target, turning every dusty street into a gamble for her life, & towns want her out or dead.

So will she stare down the Grim Reaper? If so, how?

*********************

I was an artist long before I was an author—I only started writing after the kids arrived—and now I’m galloping back to my artistic roots (you should see my four portfolios—yes, four), all while steering this mighty big creative stampede that can't be stopped!

FOUR PORTFOLIOS, ONE PIG & ONE CAT, LULU

Meanwhile, I’m  wrestlin' narrative  & bourbon-soaked chapters. It's running like clockwork, the slow burn is sizzling hotter, & yes—I killed off a major character & survived to tell the tale. There's a light at the end of that long, never-ending tunnel of editing that ends in a big bang finale. Yee-haw!

Between edits I’m resurrecting decades of artwork—from teenage sketches to not-so-recent masterpieces. Husband (my trilogy PA, Editor, and professional Ego-Booster) calls me an artistic genius. I can’t say it, but he can. He also calls me rubbish when I’m in an experimental “What if I do this?” phase. He’s not wrong.

I’m revitalising my art using BeFunky for dramatic transformations, then polishing it with Canva. Some pieces now star in my trilogy marketing, others I’ll release into the world to find loving homes.

Life pre-trilogy? We were renaissance-souled, polymath-ish adventurers - wild west fascination (especially women smoking cheroots & packing guns), archery, boating, steampunk pirates, travel, science—you name it. I’ve also had umpteen anecdotal pieces published. Creativity truly is the playground for the renaissance soul.

Then there’s the paranormal. Well now, ain't that interestin'?

Our ghost-hunter son regularly reports otherworldly whispers. The latest one happened in broad daylight in a graveyard. A voice murmured, “Follow me.” They recorded it. Yes, I listened. You could just hear it. Yes, chills.

                     MESSIN' AROUND ON THE RIVER/CANAL

So once Book 3 sets the world on fire (naturally) I’ll be working on developing my creative brand — art, writing, renaissance-soul mayhem and all, & honestly, I’m buzzing. I just hope my sanity ain't fixin' to kick the bucket, 'cause it can be a real ornery critter at times.

This was supposed to be a micro-post. Instead it mutated into… whatever this is. And I’ve got an even longer one brewing somewhere.

Keep your peepers peeled for that one!
